Building Certifiers in Newcastle: An Evening with the Building Commission NSW

On Tuesday evening (17th of March 2026), four members of our Buildingwise Certifiers team attended the Building Commission NSW Construction Industry event, held at the University of Newcastle.

The evening brought together guest speakers from the Building Commission NSW, Safe Work NSW, and the University of Newcastle for discussion around the strategic and practical aspects of building compliance across New South Wales. It was a well-organised event with a strong focus on where regulation, industry practice, and compliance obligations are heading across the state.

For Buildingwise Certifiers, evenings like this matter. Staying connected to the people and conversations shaping the regulatory environment is part of how we keep our work grounded in current requirements and real industry direction.

It was also a good opportunity to connect with others working across the built environment in NSW, including Building Commissioner James Sherrard, James McKee from Cert Lane, and Tyler Drake from Drake Development Solutions.
