Building Certifiers in Sydney: BCS Anniversary Night and the AAC Annual Conference

On Thursday evening (28 May 2026), Kurt and Alex Moroney from the Buildingwise Certifiers team made the trip to Sydney for the BCS 20th Anniversary Awards Night, held at the Firehouse Hotel in North Sydney.

It was a genuine milestone event. BCS has been part of the private certification landscape for twenty years, and the evening was a good opportunity to reflect on that journey alongside others working in the same industry. Congratulations to the entire BCS team on reaching that mark.

The following morning (29 May), Kurt Moroney attended the 2026 AAC Annual Conference at the Sofitel Sydney Wentworth Hotel. The conference program centred around the theme “Built on Integrity. Leading Construction in Confidence,” bringing together leaders from industry, government and the broader construction sector for a full day of technical workshops, presentations and a keynote speaker. The day finished with a networking session, which is always one of the more valuable parts of events like this.

It was also good to connect with James McKee from Cert Lane and Tyler Drake from Drake Development Solutions, who were in attendance across the two days.

For Buildingwise Certifiers, being present at events like these matters. Staying connected to the organisations and people shaping private certification in NSW is part of how we keep our work informed by current industry direction and regulatory thinking.

We will continue to share updates when we are out at industry events, training or professional development. If you have questions about building certification in Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Maitland, Port Stephens or the broader Hunter region, we are always happy to have a straightforward conversation.
