Buildingwise Certifiers recently issued a Complying Development Certificate (CDC) for a Change of Use to an Indoor Recreation Facility at the new home of Gracie Barra Charlestown.

Gracie Barra Charlestown is part of the historic Gracie Barra lineage, tracing back to the founders of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. The school offers training for children, women, and men of all ages and experience levels, and the Charlestown community now has a great new space to train in.

A change of use is required whenever a building’s purpose changes from what it was originally approved for. In this case, the building needed to be assessed and certified as suitable for use as an indoor recreation facility, covering the requirements that apply to a space where groups of people gather and train.

This project moved through the process efficiently. A clear list of requirements was provided early, and with everything returned promptly, the certification was completed without delay.
